My Journey & Expertise
I am Robert Jean Pierre, a Computer Scientist with a strong foundation in data science, machine learning, and software development. I am passionate about building AI systems that are not only powerful but also efficient and sustainable, with research interests in ethical artificial intelligence and its applications to real-world problems.
My journey into technology has been shaped by diverse experiences. I began in community college, where I built my academic foundation, and later transitioned into sales and marketing roles where I honed valuable communication, leadership, and analytical skills. As a Data & Marketing Analytics Manager, I developed a deep appreciation for the power of data to drive strategic decisions, using SQL, Python, and Power BI to uncover insights that directly improved business outcomes. Those years instilled in me the ability to bridge technical expertise with practical impact an approach I carry into every project.
Now, as a graduate student pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at NJIT (GPA 3.9), I specialize in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and programming languages. My projects reflect both depth and versatility: from benchmarking state-of-the-art computer vision models like Swin Transformers, to designing an AI-powered Cluedo game that demonstrates strategic reasoning and knowledge representation, to developing real-world applications such as a full-stack healthcare management system. These experiences showcase my ability to combine rigorous research with practical engineering.
I am a hard worker and lifelong learner, motivated by curiosity and a drive to solve meaningful problems. Beyond technical expertise, I bring leadership, teamwork, and adaptability qualities sharpened through years of managing teams, mentoring peers, and navigating fast-paced professional environments. I am equally comfortable collaborating across disciplines or leading initiatives to deliver results.
Looking ahead, I aim to continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible in machine learning and AI, with a vision to pursue a Ph.D. and contribute to the development of efficient, interpretable, and ethical AI systems.
